About

Dr. Meghav M. Shah is an accomplished interventional and structural cardiologist in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, with international fellowships and over a decade of clinical expertise in complex heart procedures. Known for his pioneering work in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) and complex PCI, Dr. Shah is among the few Indian cardiologists trained across premier institutions in the UK and South Korea. With over 180 TAVI procedures (High as an individual performance) and 1400 angioplasties performed as primary operator, he is regarded for precision, evidence-based medicine, and a patient centric approach in his practice.

Dr. Shah is a meritorious silver medalist in the Final Year MBBS exam among nearly 4,000 students across Maharashtra and is a merit-holder in competitive medical entrance exams, having secured admissions in all three tiers—MBBS, MD, and DM—on his first attempt. He trained at the renowned BYL Nair Hospital, where he later served as Assistant Professor of Cardiology, mentoring DM students and leading the interventional cath lab. He has also been certified as a proctor and autonomous operator for multiple global TAVI valve platforms including Edwards, Meril, and Boston Scientific.

Now practicing in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, he offers specialized care in coronary interventions, valvular heart disease, congenital heart defect closure procedures, and cardiac imaging, positioning him as a top choice for patients seeking advanced heart care in Central Mumbai.

TAVI Expertise

Dr. Meghav Shah is regarded as one of the most extensively trained TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation) specialists in Mumbai and India, having completed over 250+ TAVI procedures as a primary operator. He has undergone advanced fellowship training in structural cardiology at the prestigious Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, UK, where he gained hands-on experience in both balloon-expandable and self-expanding valve technologies.

Certified as an autonomous implanter for the Edwards Sapien valve, and a proctor for Meril Myval and Boston Scientific Accurate Neo2, Dr. Shah brings global expertise to Indian heart patients seeking minimally invasive aortic valve replacement. He is among the very few doctors in India to have experience with all the three valve mechanisms which enhances patient care as the best applicable option can be chosen for the patient.

Dr. Shah’s expertise extends to high-risk and anatomically challenging valve cases, such as valve-in-valve replacements, vascular access limitations, and emergency interventions. His excellence in the field was recognized with a First Prize at the TAVI Complication Meet in Sheffield, UK, one of the most respected forums for structural heart innovation. In addition, he is actively involved in cutting-edge TAVI research, including participation in the BHF PROTECT-TAVI Trial (UK) and authorship of a review article on TAVI in patients with difficult vascular access, currently under peer review. His experience makes him a sought after expert for high-risk and elderly patients who are not candidates for open-heart surgery.

Dr. Shah is trained in Glasgow UK for Complex Coronaries, highest volume pci centre in UK. Also worked under S J Park in Seoul at Asan Medical Centre, which is the pioneer for IVUS imaging in the world. Also does complex coronaries like CTOs and LM plasty routinely and IVUS guided procedures routinely
